CMAC Blade Processing
Starting at 3pm on Tuesday, March 17, all CMAC blades will be processed in 90 minutes by SPD (and our in-house Stryker partners). This is true overnight and on weekends also.
Some of these from Anesthesia we normally sterilize, which takes 3 hours, but starting today all will be processed using High Level Disinfection. Our process still complies perfectly with the manufacturer’s instructions.
ED staff who drop blades off to SPD should be able to pick-up after 90 minutes. Anesthesia ones will continue to be delivered back to OR via the clean elevator.
